I didn't have time to read the book just yet, but then when the not-reading of the book caused me to not-get my other work done, I decided I'd be better off just getting it over with and not-not-read it anymore. So there, it's all done.
And I tried to avoid the media and friends to keep people from spoiling the ending and now I'm the one that needs to be kept away from all of you!
Nothing to do with the ending, but I'm going through Harry withdrawal already. Without a doubt, I have to start the series over from the beginning.

Dumbledore was buried with the Elder Wand. Voldemort broke into his tomb and stole it from his corpse's hands. He thought that since Snape killed Dumbledore, if he killed Snape, he'd inherit the wand's powers. But Snape never inherited it since he killed Dumbledore per agreement and not as an enemy.
Now, in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Draco disarmed Dumbledore on the tower before Dumbledore died, so the wand recognized Draco as its new master. Then in HP7, at the Malfoy's estate, Harry takes all the wands out of Draco's hand (including Draco's own) after the chandelier crashes, and (as Ollivander later explains) that means Harry is master of Draco's wand(s). So at the point Harry took Draco's wand, mastery of the Elder Wand passed to him.
Ta-da!
In discussing with my friend, we had different ideas on why the Elder Wand was claiming Malfoy as it's true owner. I thought that Malfoy never actually had the wand in his possession but that since he was supposed to kill Dumbledore, the allegiance had already shifted. She thought something entirely different and thought Malfoy had the wand since dumbledore's death and Harry stole it from him at his home. Thoughts??
Oh and I so knew that Snape was always going to be good!
